Laurens Sweeck won the Flandriencross in Hamme, beating Toon Aerts after an exciting finale and two-man sprint. It’s Sweeck’s third and strongest victory of the season. Aerts increased his series lead in the X20 Badkamers Trofee with two more rounds to go.

As soon as the flagged dropped, Toon Aerts pushed the pace and put pressure on his rivals. He quickly established a gap of 20 seconds, but saw Pidcock coming back on the fifth lap, bringing Sweeck with him.

With four laps to go, Aerts, Sweeck, Pidcock and also Iserbyt came togerhter to lead race. However, the pace was too high for Iserbyt and a crash of Pidcock in the final lap saw their chances of winning reduced.  Aerts and Sweeck took off with the two of them and would contest the win. It was Sweeck who led them onto the pavement to start sprinting in first place. Aerts came close, but Sweeck had just enough to hold his lead and claim victory in Hamme.
