Tim van Dijke has won the short prologue of the Sibiu Cycling Tour. The 22-year-old Dutchman completed the 2.3 km timetrial in two minutes and 42 seconds. Van Dijke was seven-tenths faster than Boguslawski, which sees him taking the first leader's jersey in the Romanian stage race.

Tim van Dijke:

"I needed this victory. I've had a bad time because of a severe injury, so it's nice to win again. In a prologue like this, everything needs to be perfect. It is not a sprint; you must divide your energy and power well. In the coming days, we hope to win another stage with David and give Gijs Leemreize and Chris Harper a good position in the GC. We will go flat out for that.”
